Vegan Starter Guides
Ga-Maleven
Going vegan doesn’t have to hard, nor confusing! There are so many starter guides, recipe books, guide books, lectures, etc. to help you on your vegan journey. Even talking to your vegan friend or joining a vegan Facebook group is a great place to start! Sometimes the best thing is to just find an experienced vegan to ask questions to.
The best starter guide is VEGAN OUTREACH, in my opinion, as they not only provide a detailed 10-week course to help you in numerous countries and languages, but also help you get in contact with nutritionists, doctors, and experienced vegans. They hold your hand for however long you need them to until you have it down. They also provide meals to those financially struggling who may not be able to afford normal, healthy meals.
My recommendation is to start with them. But, there are many other starter guides you can check out that may work better for you, or if you want to try more than one, do so! Everyone’s taste preferences are different, and if you’re picky like me maybe that one starter guide just had a lot of things you didn’t like. And that’s okay! Try another!
But the best thing to do is to simply eat all the same things you did before, just replace the animal products with plant-based alternatives. Veggie burgers instead of flesh burgers, veggie dogs instead of hotdogs, vegan cheese instead of dairy cheese, etc. Otherwise, it’s the same thing. And once you are comfortable with that, then you can try more exotic ingredients!
The point is to not harm others, not to eat like some health guru or spend hundreds on the most foreign, organic fruit. Enjoy the food, but enjoy not harming others even more! 🙂
